Yasuke X -Aeterna Stella
It's hanky time again. Æterna Stella - Latin for eternal star - was released just on the day of the piano and is a sound pearl from the pens of newcomer Yasuke X.

He is an author, composer and multi-instrumentalist. He has had his passion for music since he was a teenager. First he played guitar and drums in metal bands, later he discovered the piano and cello for himself. This was also his entry into the sound world of film music and modern classical music.
In 2018 he moved to Switzerland, where he learned the fascinating story of Yasuke Kurosan: legend has it that the slave from Mozambique became the first dark-skinned samurai in Japan. Without further ado, our Yasuke adopted X, this name, quickly added the X -for the mystery and unknown in life- and voilà the street musician had found his brand name.
The eternal star
Æterna Stella is a tribute to his brother. Everyone has lost a loved one in their life. It's part of life and it's painful. But it is equally comforting to know that this person was part of your own life, Yasuke X knows this from personal experience. In his sound pearl, he takes us back to his childhood, to the hospital, to his brother's deathbed. Personal and yet universal.

By the way, he finds inspiration for his constructions in his idols Agnès Obel, Olafur Arnalds and Yann Tiersen.
And he reminded me a bit of the latter. Dreamlike, spherical, subdued sound, a heartbreaking and moving melody in a dark atmosphere, but full of melancholy and hope.
